UPDATE:Amazon has done the right thing and pulled these products, good for you Amazon.  I’ll now go out of way to buy stuff from them.  I really like Amazon, and I’ll now re-invest in them after I divested due to this incident.

I refuse to shop at Amazon.com until they remove Shark Fin Soup from their catalog. Nobody should sell this violent cruel unsustainable product. I find this product repulsive and offensive. Any retailer who chooses to look the other way is culpable. Please join me in not buying anything from Amazon.com until they remove this disgusting product.

I like shark fin soup. It’s available in Bangkok and in many other places on SE Asia where I live.

What’s the dealio?

Dude,
Shark fin soup is a violent cruel unsustainable product. Nearly every species of shark are endangered. Using only a very small portion of the animal and discarding the rest is very un-Buddhist. The sharks suffer pain and death, mmmm good eating.

Something to keep in mind:
Amazon sells books and subscriptions to magazines devoted to animal fighting (see The Dog Pit, The Feathered Warrior, etc.). These books and magazines help advise people how to participate in this illegal and, by my standards, immoral activity. And, if that weren’t enough, they also sell a book glorifying child molestation written by an admitted pedophile (see Viamund the Boy-Love Vampire). That’s great that they quit selling the shark fin soup, but you might want to reconsider giving Amazon your money… at least until they start caring less about the bottom line and more about human decency. Thanks for reading.
